22nd ICPAU Annual Seminar
ICPAU donates mattresses worth 6.3 million to Entebbe Hospital
One of the 5 core values of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is “Social Responsiveness”. This requires all accountants, both in public and private sector to respond positively to the challenges affecting the societies they operate in.
It is because of this that accountants led by the President of ICPAU, CPA Dr. Protazio Begumisa, as part of the corporate social responsibility engagement during their 22nd Annual Seminar, and as they celebrates 25 years of ICPAU’s existence, donated 50 mattresses worth 6.3 million to Entebbe hospital.
During the hand over, Dr. Begumisa said that the mattresses were donated to address the shortage in both the male and female wards. When asked why mattresses, he submitted that the hospital management conducted an assessment and submitted that the shortage in the mattresses for patients was a challenge that needed to be addressed urgently.
He also thanked the hospital management for availing its staff to offer medical services to participants of ICPAU seminars every time they are in Entebbe.
On his part, Dr. Muwanga Moses, the head of the hospital thanked ICPAU Council and Management for always coming to the hospital’s aid whenever called upon. He also noted that the hospital still had a number of challenges, thus calling upon ICPAU to continue supporting it. He also called upon accountants to embrace regular medical examinations more often.
Among the prominent persons at the hand over included, Hon. Nandala Mafabi-MP, Prof. Simeon Wanyama, Board Chairman, PPDA and Mr. Patrick Byabakama-Kabelenge, Board Chairman, NSSF, and CPA Derick Nkajja, CEO of ICPAU, all of whom are accountants.
In the recent past, ICPAU has donated mattresses, a surgical table and a theater lamp to the same hospital
