CPA Dr. Albert is a full member of ICPAU since 1997.

CPA Otete has served as a Council member for the term of July 2023 to June 2025. Having served on three Committees of the Council of ICPAU since 2016, his goal is to continue serving on Council since he is experienced in governance of boards of several organisations.

Albert is a board member at Finance Trust Bank, Britam Insurance and Uganda Development Bank.

Having served as a member of Council for 2 years, his second term will enable pending ideas and activities to be expedited for the benefit of members and students.

Albert has contributed towards governance at ICPAU through three Committees and his achievements as a Council member have been to conduct a benchmark visit to ANAN for accountancy research and development of an alternative ICPAU full time stream. Attended the 6th Research Conference at ICPAK which has energised his fast tracking the ICPAU’s accountancy research agenda and papers. Revived the research agenda including appointment of a research officer and a new research panel, among others.

As a member of the Accountancy Institutes in Kenya and Rwanda, he has interacted with colleagues in those countries and those networking skills have enabled him to foster more collaborations between East African Community Institutes of Accountants (EACIAs).

As a board member, he has practical skills in governance of both private and public organisations. He started his professional accountancy career in 1992 with PWC and KPMG and thereafter set up his own firm in 2013, and therefore he has experience practicing in the big firms and SMPs.

Albert holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from the Swiss School of Management, Masters in Business Administration from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) in Arusha, Tanzania and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University.

Albert is a Partner at J.Samuel Richards & Associates since 2013 to date.
