CPA John Sebuuma is a full member of ICPAU since 2015.
As a nominee for membership of Council, his motivation is rooted in a commitment to integrity, strategic governance and the advancement of the Institution’s mission.
Among others, his objectives are to uphold good governance and ethical conduct, strategic oversight and policy guidance, enhancing accountability and financial stewardship and promoting stakeholder engagements. He also aims to support the Council’s oversight of performance metrics, quality assurance mechanisms and initiatives that foster innovation, research and professional development.
CPA John Sebuuma is the founder and managing partner of Sebuuma & Associates. The firm offers audit, tax and advisory, insolvency and compliance services and this reflects his entrepreneurial leadership and contribution to professional service delivery within the accounting sector.
He currently serves on the Taxation and Economic Policy Panel of ICPAU and previously served on the Marketing Sub-Committee. As a member of these committees, CPA John has contributed to strategies aimed at enhancing the visibility of the accountancy profession, strengthening member engagement and promoting the Institute’s image both locally and internationally.
CPA John Sebuuma has championed the adoption of technology in accounting practices, including implementing systems such as Odoo ERP, Draftworx and EFRIS integration. These initiatives have improved financial reporting, compliance and operational efficiency.
CPA Sebuuma possesses dual competencies in financial management and legal compliance both of which are integral to institutional governance. Currently he is a Practitioner at Sebuuma & Associates. CPA John holds a Bachelors of Law degree from Kampala International University. He is also a holder of a Masters degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance and Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Uganda Martyrs University. He holds a National Diploma in Accountancy and Uganda Diploma in Business Studies from UNEB & Makerere University Business School respectively.
