
Timothy Musoke Ssejjoba is the Acting Commissioner for University Education & Training at Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports, since 2022.
With over 24 years of experience in Uganda’s education sector, Ssejjoba has served in several key capacities, including Assistant Commissioner for Public Universities, Principal Education Officer, and Senior Education Officer.
Earlier in his career, he taught English and Literature at Kibuli Secondary School, where he also headed the department and served as a School Board Representative.
He holds a Master’s in Higher Education Management and Administration from Uganda Management Institute, a Graduate Diploma in Leadership in ICT from Dublin City University, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Makerere University. He has also completed certifications in Education Diplomacy and African Leadership in ICT.
Ssejjoba serves on the governing councils of several universities including Makerere University, Uganda Management Institute, and Mountains of the Moon University. He also coordinated the African Centres of Excellence II project under the Higher Education Science & Technology Project.
Outside work, he is active in community service through Rotary International, where he has served as President and Assistant Governor.
