ICPAU Launches New Syllabuses

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has launched new
syllabuses for the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA) and Accounting
Technicians Diploma (ATD) courses. The syllabuses have been approved by the
National Council for Higher Education as required by the Accountants Act, 2013 are
effective from 1 January 2023.

PAEB Releases September 2022 CPA Exam Results: Adequate Exams Preparation Emphasized

The Public Accountants Examinations Board (PAEB) on 4 October 2022 released the results of the September 2022 Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations. The examinations were held from 12 – 16 September 2022 at the UMA at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Lugogo Showgrounds, Multipurpose Hall, and for the CPA course only. There were 3,367 candidates. This compares favourably with similar diets in the past, that is, 93.8% in March 2022.

ICPAU, CMA, USE and Vision Group Launch 2022 Financial Reporting Awards

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), the Capital Markets Authority, Uganda Securities Exchange and Vision Group are set to hold the 2022 Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards on 9 November 2022.

The 2022 FiRe Awards will be held under the theme, Corporate Reporting: Strengthening Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting.

ICPAU Issues Three Gold Service Awards as it Celebrates Thirty Years

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) issued three Gold Awards at the 2022 Accountancy Service Awards held on 2 September 2022.

2022 Accountancy Service Awards to Recognise Humanitarian Contributions

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has introduced the Unique Humanitarian Award, at the 2022 Accountancy Service Awards (ASA). The Award is aimed at recognising individuals who have impacted the community in the areas of humanitarian relief and assistance, human development, refugee assistance, civil society, equitable economic development, health, environment, education, population or public policy. Among other criteria, the nominee must demonstrate an innovative approach to humanitarian service.

Accountants to Discuss Responsive Economic Development at 10th CPA Economic Forum

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) will hold the 10th CPA Economic Forum from 20 – 22 July 2022. At the Forum, accountants will discuss a responsive economic development agenda.

The theme encompasses discussions around economic development strategies that address the most pressing needs of society in a timely manner.

ICPAU Unveils Beneficiaries of the 3rd Cohort of CPA Scholarships
The Institute’s scholarship package covers registration, annual renewal examinations fees, as well as study material. The Institute has also partnered with training institutes that will cover tuition fees. These are Glory Professional Consultants and Trainers and MAT ABACUS.
ICPAU to Hold 27th Annual Accountants’ Conference

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) will hold the 27th Annual Seminar of accountants from 31 August to 2 September 2022 at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Entebbe, and online.

The theme for the Seminar is Resilience in a Dynamic Environment.

ICPAU introduces Business Advisory Support for Small Businesses

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has launched business advisory support services to assist Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the recovery from the effects of COVID-19. The services are free and will be provided in conjunction with its membership.

CPA March Examinations Results Out

The Public Accountants Examinations Board (PAEB) of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has released the results of the March 2022 Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations.

The examinations were conducted from 14 –18 March 2022, at the Kampala centre. There were 2,890 candidates.
